With the 2024/25 Premier League finally over, the clubs’ positions have been cemented into history, marking Manchester United’s worst ever Premier League run.

Despite a final day 2-0 win over Aston Villa, the Red Devils have finished in 15th place overall, failing to secure European football for next season, their worst finish of the Premier League era.

As such, the club have missed out on an extra £100 million in revenue, which would have come with Champions League football which was on offer through the Europa League final.

However, The Athletic have now revealed their estimate at how much each of the Premier League sides have earned this season.

Why Manchester United have risen three places in the earnings table

Despite Manchester United finishing in 15th place, The Athletic have estimated The Red Devils to be the 12th highest earners in the Premier League, receiving an estimated £139.5 million.

Whilst this may cause significant confusion as to why United are ranking above Fulham, Everton and West Ham United, their is a logical reason.

Despite United finishing below the trio, the total that each club earns isn’t just based on their finishing position.

Another large factor is the number of live games each team has, with United having 28 live games throughout the season, whilst Fulham had 14, Everton had 16 and West Ham had 18.

As such, United earned less than the trio through merit payments based on their finishing position, however earned more on facility fees due to live games being broadcast.

Combining the UK and international merit payments, United are estimated to have earned £17.2 million, whilst Fulham have £28.8 million, Everton have £23 million and West Ham have £20.1 million.

However, looking at the facility fees, United look to be earning £24.4 million, with £12.7 million for Fulham, £14.4 million for Everton and £16.1 million for West Ham, showing the impact of the live games.
