Arsenal make€70m bid for Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are wasting no time making moves in the transfer market after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title.

With Champions League football secured, the Gunners are determined to build a squad capable of going one step further next season.

After long-standing interest in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, attention has shifted to a forward seen by many at the club as ready-made for instant impact.

While the Gunners weighed up their options during the final weeks of the campaign, they waited until both seasons concluded before advancing discussions with their top target.

But now, they have made developments that push them ahead of Manchester United in the race for Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal submit bid for Manchester United target Viktor Gyokeres

According to a report from Correio da Manha, Arsenal have now submitted a €70 million offer for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The proposal includes a €12 million signing bonus for the Swedish international.

Along with a five-year contract worth €7 million annually.

The Gunners have also reportedly held direct talks with both Sporting and the player.

The report states that Gyokeres is viewed internally as the ideal addition to hit the ground running.

Gyokeres, 26, has long been a top target for Manchester United, dating back to 2023.

Especially given his incredible record of 66 goals and 23 assists under Ruben Amorim at Sporting.

However, United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has seen them pivot to other, more financially viable targets like Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap.

With Amorim unable to reunite with Gyokeres and United no longer pursuing the forward, Arsenal now appear to be in the driving seat.

Sources close to the deal remain optimistic that Gyokeres and Sporting will respond positively.

Paving the way for one of this summer’s most high-profile transfers.
