"Fits Perfectly" - Man United Urged To Secure £30M Transfer Ahead Of Chelsea And 2 Other PL Clubs - EXCLUSIVE

Ex-Manchester United fullback Paul Parker believes Liam Delap is the perfect fit for his former team.

Speaking exclusively to Man U News(courtesy of Betano), Parker said that the Red Devils need a known quantity who has Premier League experience to lead the line and Delap is the right type of profile:

“There’s still no guarantees, but just the way Delap plays, you could put him in any level of football and you know what you’re gonna get. At the moment, United need players who they know what they’re gonna get. They know they’re gonna get hard work and via that hard work, then you’ll start to earn the right to maybe go on and start crafting things out.”

“I think you need more committed players, and Delap is a very committed player in what he wants he wants to achieve. I think given everything with Ipswich, I think he’s earned the right for that and Ipswich has definitely given him the opportunity to do that.”

“I’m looking at it as an ex-player [who’s played in] English football and knows what Manchester United are about, and I think he fits it perfectly. If you look at getting a more creative midfield, then you’ve got someone who’s going to make unselfish runs and fight for every half-decent ball and try and make them better, and I think he fits it, totally fits it.”

Delap is set to decide his future soon

It has been reported that the striker is looking to make a decision on his next club before the start of the European Under-21 Championships.

Due to a £30m release clause in his contract, Ipswich have allowed Delap to speak to interested teams, with United, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton all hoping to secure his services.

Man United are targeting other forwards

If Delap does end up moving somewhere else, Ruben Amorim’s side are expected to pursue different targets. It appears they already have the two No.10 positions covered, with a deal in place for Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, while they are also keen on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

In terms of alternatives to lead the line, the likes of Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres have been mentioned as options.
