Matheus Cunha’s days as a Wolves player are almost over, with Manchester United set to announce the star.
Matheus Cunha has been the subject of speculation for some time now, but Wolves fans know that they won’t have to hear it for much longer.
Cunha is set to join Manchester United in a £62.5 million move, which is the value of his release clause that was set earlier this year.
Man United will pay Cunha’s release clause in three installments, and have the fee paid in full by the summer of 2027.
The nature of United’s interest in Cunha has been frustrating for a lot of people associated with Wolves – and Dave Edwards believes this could now affect him when he returns to play against Wanderers next season.

Cunha admitted he’s made mistakes in a message to Wolves fans on Monday.
The Brazilian has emerged as a divisive figure at the club in more recent times, and has caused upset with some of the things he’s done.
The interview Cunha did where he talked about wanting to win trophies was perhaps the thing that caused most fans to turn on him, as they felt it was not appropriate given Wolves were still in a relegation battle.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
On Sunday against Brentford, there were a few chants about Cunha and United from some people at Molineux, but the reaction he gets from Wolves fans next season will be very interesting.
And Dave Edwards believes he should expect a few boos.
He said in his latest E&S column: “I am sure he will be on his way, probably to Manchester United.
“I think he might get a few jeers when he plays against Wolves next season, but while it was his last match in the famous colours – the supporters gave him the appreciation of what his performances have deserved over the last 18 months or so.”
Cunha must expect boos
Cunha has been sensational viewing at Wolves, but he’d be a fool to think there won’t be any boos at all for him next season.
He’s a genius at times, and provided Wanderers fans with some unforgettable moments.

Appearances – 36
Minutes played – 2832
Goals – 17

However, his behaviour in 2025 has been questionable to say the least at times, and some will make their feelings known.
And he could not really complain if it happened.
