Graham Potter is feeling the pressure going into the summer transfer window, knowing how much he has to do to improve West Ham.

The Englishman has been slow to get going at the London Stadium, and with limited resources in the transfer window, he will be required to be shrewd over the summer.

Reinforcements are needed throughout the squad, but more attacking options have to be a priority for the Hammers after this season.

Omari Hutchinson has already been linked with a move to East London, and Potter may be ready to kickstart his business early.

Potter keen on Hutchinson move

Although Hutchinson hasn’t had his best season, with Ipswich having been relegated from the Premier League, it could well be his opportunity to push on.

Before this term, the 21-year-old has shown plenty of promise, and with Potter well known for his abilities to work wonders with young players, it could prove to be a good match with the pair working together at Chelsea.

The issue that West Ham run into is that it has been suggested that the Tractor Boys could be looking for a fee of £25million for anyone eager to gain his services.

With PSR restrictions tight this summer and limited breathing space unless players can be moved off the books, this could prove to be tricky to justify.

Mohammed Kudus seeks West Ham exit

After a poor season, Mohammed Kudus has decided that life at the London Stadium is not what he wants for his future.

The Ghanaian international has not been at his best this season, but remains a wanted man nevertheless.

The 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move to Premier League champions Liverpool, as well as being linked with a move to Arsenal.

However, Kudus initially joined West Ham for a fee of £38million plus add-ons in the summer of 2023 and whether the fellow Premier League clubs would offer enough for the Irons to feel like they’re cashing in is yet to be seen.

Nevertheless, it has also been reported that clubs in Saudi Arabia are looking to make a move for Kudus this summer, too, which could solve problems for West Ham.

If Kudus was interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, it is much more likely that the Hammers will be able to drive those offers up more than they could if he left for another English club.

A sale for the right price could then green light Potter to make a move for Hutchinson, with Ipswich’s potential asking price more achievable to meet and the potential to succeed.
