The conference finals are still going on, and the NBA is still weeks away from crowning its new champion. However, that does not mean it is too early to look into the upcoming offseason, which will be a crucial one to monitor.
There are plenty of names and teams to keep an eye on this summer. This includes Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, who has been the subject of trade rumors since February's trade deadline. If the Suns do explore trades for the 15-time All-Star, there will likely be plenty of suitors.
On Tuesday, NBA insider Shams Charania provided a major update regarding a possible trade destination for Durant that could shake up the landscape of the league.

According to Charania, one team to keep an eye on is the San Antonio Spurs, who reportedly "had mutual interest" in a Durant trade at the deadline. This report comes after Charania also reported that Victor Wembanyama should be back on the court for training camp after his sophomore season was cut short due to a blood clot.
"[The Spurs] fully expect [Victor Wembanyama] to be ready to go for the start of next season, for the start of training camp," Charania said on the Pat McAfee Show. "I think Kevin Durant's another guy there was mutual interest in at the trade deadline."
The last time Durant was traded was back in 2023 when he was a member of the Brooklyn Nets. In the deal, Brooklyn sent him to Phoenix in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, and multiple first-round picks.
It remains to be seen what ultimately happens with Durant, but a trade to the Spurs would likely make them immediate contenders, especially if Wembanyama will be ready to start the season. Until something becomes official, this will be important to monitor in the summer.
