Aaron Rodgers, Steelers Receive Training Camp Warning From Super Bowl Champ Amid Rumors

Two months after his six-hour visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers (March 21st), Aaron Rodgers is yet to make an official announcement about his NFL future. The star quarterback was linked with multiple teams during the offseason, including the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.

With the Giants signing two veteran quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and drafting Jaxson Dart in April's draft, as well as the Vikings giving the keys to the car to J.J. McCarthy, Rodgers only had one choice left.

Following a disappointing tenure with the New York Jets, the four-time NFL MVP's future remains a mystery. Despite being linked with a move to the Steelers, he can still call it a career and leave Mike Tomlin's team hanging.

Rodgers' absence during Pittsburgh's OTAs is catching attention. This is an important part of the season for building chemistry, and not having the centerpiece of the project present could be counterproductive for the Steelers.

During an appearance on Kay Adams' "Up & Adams" show on Tuesday, former Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty warned the six-time champions against allowing Rodgers to take more time before making a final decision, naming training camp as the deadline to get this deal done.

"It's how you show up, too," McCourty said. "I think for a guy like Cam Heyward, Rodgers shows up, he's ready to work, he's into it from Day 1. He shows up and he's telling DK [Metcalf] where to run on this route. He's helping guys in the slot, he's talking to all of the different players and saying, 'Hey, this is what I did in Green Bay,' 'This is the way we did the year we won the Super Bowl.'

"I think that's what matters. Once he shows up, the energy that he brings every single day, the knowledge that he brings every single day, he has to be all-in... If I'm a defender and I've watched different quarterbacks since "Big Ben" get in there and not being able to get the job done, if Rodgers gets in practice and he's spinning it, I'm excited as hell to have him on my team."

This potential partnership could bring a lot of benefits for Rodgers and the Steelers, but with the New Orleans Saints in need of a veteran quarterback too, the race for the Packers legend could be open again.
