The brutal 12 words Ruben Amorim said to Alejandro Garnacho to end his Manchester United career have now been revealed after it came to light that the 20-year-old was outed in front of his teammates. Garnacho played just 19 minutes of the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham earlier this month, first sparking rumours of a departure.
Previously mimicking Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic celebrations, the Argentine youngster had long dreamed of following in his idol’s footsteps. And after finishing the 2024/25 season as the Red Devils’ second most productive player, many expected his minutes to rise under Amorim, or at least get given the respect he deserves.
But he and the club have been at loggerheads ever since their failure to salvage a dismal campaign with a backdoor entry into the Champions League. Now, it’s clear the fallout is bigger than it first appeared. What once looked like a blip may well be a breaking point, as the winger looks set to be the next to walk out of the Theatre of Dreams in search of pasture's new.

Man United's Alejandro Garnacho explodes after Europa League final defeat with explicit rant
Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho couldn’t hold back after last night’s Europa League final defeat against Tottenham in Bilbao. Spurs ended their 17-year wait for a trophy as Brennan Johnson's first-half goal was enough to beat Ruben Amorim's side who will now be without European football next season. Garnacho was clearly not happy at full-time and didn’t mince his words as the Red Devils suffered heartbreak at the San Mamés Stadium. “Our season was s***. We didn’t beat anyone in the league,” Garnacho told reporters in the mixed zone. “I’ve played every round to reach the final, and today I only played 20 minutes. I’ll enjoy the summer, and then we’ll see what happens.” Roberto Garnacho, his brother and agent, posted on his Instagram account that the winger had been "thrown under the bus". "Working as no-one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus," said Roberto Garnacho.

Amorim held a team meeting at Carrington on Saturday in which it emerged he opened the door for the unhappy Argentina winger to leave Old Trafford this summer.
But a Daily Mail exclusive has since reported that Amorim was so angry that he effectively told Garnacho to hope to God he can find another club rather than have to return to United for pre-season training at the start of July. According to the report, he said:
"You better pray that you can find a club to sign you."
This all follows public frustration expressed by Garnacho and his brother - who also serves as his agent - over the winger’s limited involvement at the San Mames Stadium. Despite playing a key role in United’s run to the Europa League final - scoring once and providing four assists across 14 appearances - he was benched in favour of Mason Mount for the final in the Basque Country.
Garnacho’s brother took to social media to share his bemusement after the 20-year-old had spent 20 minutes warming up before finally being brought on. The player himself later voiced his concerns in an interview with a Spanish outlet, further fuelling speculation over a growing rift with the club, with bookies now releasing odds over his next move.
