A five-star recruit coming out of Collins Hill High School in Georgia, NFL rookie Travis Hunter first made waves at Jackson State under coach Deion Sanders before transferring to Colorado in 2022.
In 2024, Hunter swept major awards on both sides of the ball, earning the Heisman Trophy, AP College Football Player of the Year, the Chuck Bednarik Award as top defensive player, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award as best receiver, all in the same season.
On Tuesday, the NFL’s official X account quietly marked another major milestone in the life of Jacksonville’s newest playmaker, posting a simple: “Congratulations to Travis Hunter & Leanna Lenee on their wedding. ð¤ð¥.”
The post arrived just two days after the Hunter and his longtime partner, Leanna Lenee, exchanged vows at The Barn at Faith Farms in Athens, Tennessee.
Hunter's 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns were matched by 35 tackles and four interceptions in 2024, a workload previously unseen among Heisman winners.
His unique skill set made him the clear choice at the top of many draft boards.
On April 24, 2025, the Jaguars traded up from No. 5 to No. 2 overall with the Cleveland Browns to select him, sacrificing future picks to secure the rare two-way talent.
Hunter's four-year rookie deal is projected at $46.57 million, including a $30.5 million signing bonus, per Spotrac, locking in his place as a cornerstone for Jacksonville’s rebuild.

The 2024 Jaguars endured their first losing season since 2021, finishing 4-13 and missing the playoffs for the second straight year.
With head coach Liam Coen installing a fresh system and Hunter slated to contribute as both a receiver and slot cornerback, expectations are cautiously optimistic.
