Denver Nuggets star guard Russell Westbrook announced on Tuesday that he underwent successful surgery on his right hand.
The former NBA MVP announced the news on his blog, 'Word of Westbrook'.
"This morning, I'm undergoing surgery on my right hand to fix two breaks that happened during the season. I'm grateful for everyone's support all year and I can't wait to be back out there at 100% soon. The comeback is already in motion. #WhyNot," wrote Westbrook.
"Remember, every day is a chance to elevate your game — in style and in life. Stay hungry, stay humble, and always honor the gift. Can't wait to hear what you thought about today's drop."
The 36-year-old is coming off his first season with the Nuggets, where he averaged 13.3 points on 44.9 percent shooting along with 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 27.9 minutes.
