Packers Reportedly Made Interesting Contract Proposal To Jaire Alexander

The Green Bay Packers want to bounce back after a disappointing end to last season.

To do so, they will need to have the best of the best on the field.

That’s why, despite all the speculation, they might not want to part ways with Jaire Alexander after all.

According to a report by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the Packers offered him a restructured contract to keep him around for the long run:

“According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Packers have proposed a restructured contract to [Jaire] Alexander, which tangibly demonstrates their interest in retaining the two-time All-Pro cornerback during an offseason in which they have been open to trading him,” Schneidman wrote.

When healthy, Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the game.

While he’s been burned a couple of times, just like everybody else, he’s one of the few defensive backs who has proved that he can routinely hold his own against the cream of the crop of wide receivers in the league.

Unfortunately, he’s struggled to stay healthy for most of his career, which has obviously affected his market value.

More than that, he’s also had some discipline issues with the organization, up to the point where he was even suspended for one game.

Alexander has been quite vocal about his discontent, and his volatile nature may not have done him many favors in the trade market, either.

But now that the upcoming season is just around the corner and the Packers failed to trade him during the 2025 NFL Draft as expected, perhaps it might make more sense for both parties to bury the hatchet and continue their partnership for the foreseeable future.
