Murillo and Matz Sels both ranked number one in the Premier League in 2024/25, and more key…

Nottingham Forest finished in seventh place during the 2024/25 Premier League campaign with plenty of highlights across the season.

Nuno Espirito Santo was gutted not to qualify for the Champions League. However, a first foray into the UEFA Conference League is on the cards for the Reds next season.

Forest did fall away over the course of the last six weeks of the season and had to settle for a seventh-place finish, with Chelsea beating the Reds on the final day to win a top-five place.

Forest made history by becoming the first team in the Premier League era to double their points tally from one year to the next and that must be celebrated.

With the dust settling on a campaign that has seen Forest qualify for Europe, Nottingham Forest News have skimmed through the numbers via FBRef to look at where Forest stars featured in specific individual categories.

Matz Sels, Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic all receive a mention in some way, shape or form.

Clearances: Murillo ranked number 1

Murillo ranked number one in the Premier League for the most clearances across the 2024/25 campaign, with the Brazilian producing another wonderful season in the Premier League.

MORE FOREST STORIES

The 22-year-old made 249 clearances for the Reds, which proved 23 clear of Brentford defender Nathan Collins, who finishes the season in second place on that particular list.

Aerial Duels Won: Nikola Milenkovic ranked top four

When it comes to a percentage of headers won during the Premier League campaign, Milenkovic highlights exactly just how useful he’s been in clearing with his head.

The £12 million signing from Fiorentina has won 72.1% of the aerial duels that he’s contested during the 2024/25 campaign and he promises to be a really useful player in Europe next season.

Ball Recoveries: Elliot Anderson inside the top three

Another wonderful summer signing for Forest was the decision to bring Elliot Anderson in from Newcastle for £35 million.

He’s held down a position in midfield for the entire campaign, and with 207 ball recoveries, he’s only behind Moises Caicedo and Bruno Fernandes when it comes to that particular metric this season.

XG: Chris Wood in the top eight

It’s been a remarkable season for Wood, and with an XG of 13.4, he sits in eighth place on the list of every other Premier League player for this statistic.

Wood bagged 20 goals during the Premier League season, enjoying his best top-flight campaign to date.

Clean Sheets: Matz Sels finishes joint top

It’s not a secret that Sels has finished the campaign with a share of the Golden Glove, with the Belgian being given his award at the weekend.

Sels cost Forest just £4 million when he signed from Strasbourg and he’s established himself as the number one stopper this season.

Successful Take-Ons: Murillo ranked number 1

With a percentage of 73%, Murillo is once again top of the list of stats, and it’s becoming a common trend with the Brazilian.

Forest will be desperately hoping to keep hold of him for at least another year as the Reds try to make a fist of playing in Europe.
