In August 2024, Chelsea forward Armando Broja signed for fellow Premier League side Everton on a season-long loan.
The Toffees had the option to make the transfer permanent, but in the wake of his fruitless loan stint at Goodison Park, they have unsurprisingly not taken it up.
Everton confirmed in a club statement that Broja would be returning to Chelsea.
Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala would also be returning to their parent clubs.
Although Broja had to deal with a lot of injury issues, one statistic has emerged regarding his time on the pitch which is particularly damning.

Armando Broja did not register a single shot on target for Everton
Armando Broja made just 11 competitive appearances for Everton’s senior squad over the course of the 2024/25 campaign.
He was on the pitch for a total of 353 minutes – and in that time, he registered just four shots. Worse still, none of those four efforts were on target.
Broja is part of a nine-man list of Everton players who’ve played over 250 minutes in the Premier League without registering a single shot on target since Opta began collecting the data in 2003/04.
However, Broja is the only forward player on the list.
Armando Broja’s departure from Everton means he joins a wonderful list of #EFC players to play 250+ minutes in the Premier League for the club without registering a single shot on target since Opta began collecting this data (03/04).

Why Everton actually got lucky with Armando Broja loan spell
Admittedly, Broja’s loan spell at Everton was fruitless, but there is a silver lining in this for the Toffees.
The fact it was a loan with an option to buy, rather than an obligation to buy or even a straight signing, means they’ve been able to offload him without further repercussions.
In addition, Beto rose to the occasion in the second half of the season, and Everton have safely survived in the Premier League ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Toffees are now free to look elsewhere for new striker additions over the summer, and the Broja loan spell will be forgotten about without much of a fuss.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to leave Everton once his contract expires this summer, which means David Moyes will have to be especially active for new strikers in the market.
