A lot of Celtic supporters have been asking one big question — when will Kieran Tierney officially become a Celtic player again? Ever since news came out that he had signed a pre-contract, the excitement has been building. Fans are counting down the days to see him back at the club where it all began.
Tierney came through the Celtic youth system and knows what it means to play for the club. He gave everything in his first spell before moving to Arsenal in 2019. Now, after six years away, he’s ready to return and play his part in more success with the team he grew up supporting.

Tierney will reportedly officially become a Celtic player again on Tuesday, July 1st. That’s the day after his contract with Arsenal reportedly comes to an end. From that day, he’ll officially be back in the squad. Celtic are expected to make a big deal of it online, likely posting a video or photo of Tierney wearing the green and white again.
But as Tierney walks back through the door at Lennoxtown, another may be walking out. Greg Taylor, who has been Celtic’s main left-back in recent years, is expected to leave the club this summer. And with Jeffrey Schlupp’s future still unclear, Tierney will likely take over as first choice in that position.

Brendan Rodgers will hope Tierney is the first of a few key signings. Celtic will need a strong team to go far in the Champions League and win a domestic treble next season. Tierney brings experience, energy, and a real connection with the club and supporters.
His return could be the first step in building a team ready to go even further next season — in Scotland and in Europe.
