Newcastle United have set their sights on a potential move to sign Jack Grealish as he looks set to leave Man City this summer.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Eddie Howe believes the 29-year-old would be a good addition to his squad.
However, his £350,000-per-week wages are expected to be a problem with regard to their ability to finance a move away from the Etihad.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Grealish has told friends he expects to leave City and has been frozen out by Guardiola.
He does not want to warm the bench for another campaign after being given just 1,521 minutes this season, including only seven Premier League starts.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 17 May Newcastle will make three major signings to boost their Champions League amibitions.

Newcastle eye move to sign Jack Grealish after Guardiola decision
Brown told Football Insider on 18 March that Man City will let Grealish leave as he is no longer part of Guardiola’s plans for the future.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that the England midfielder would benefit from a move to St James’ Park.
“Newcastle have been considering a move for Grealish,” he told Football Insider.
“That’s definitely a move I can see happening when the window opens.
“Eddie Howe wants to strengthen this squad because they’ve not been able to spend much in recent windows, and he would add quality and experience to the team.
“I think it’s a move that would suit him if they can offer him more regular football.
“It looks like he will be leaving Man City, he’s not going to be part of Guardiola’s plans.
“So a move Newcastle could allow him to keep playing in the Champions League and in the Premier League if they can get it done.
“The only problem there is his wages, and whether he’d take a cut to move to Newcastle.”

Jamie Gittens update emerges at St James’ Park
Grealish is not the only wide player to be linked with a move to Newcastle this summer, as they are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
Brown told Football Insider on 20 May that Newcastle are working on signing Gittens after joining the likes of Chelsea in the race for his signature.
The winger’s agent has made his availability clear to interested clubs and has been aiming to drum up interest ahead of a summer move.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider last month that Chelsea are leading the race for Gittens ahead of the likes of Liverpool and other Premier League rivals.
