Anthony Edwards Under Fire After Performance Against Thunder in Timberwolves' Game 4 Loss

The Oklahoma City Thunder bounced back from their 42-point loss to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves and are now just one win away from advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012.

The Thunder were led by their Most Valuable Player award winner, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with 40 points on 13-of-30 shooting.

He finished just one rebound shy of a triple-double, dishing out 10 assists while securing nine rebounds.

Anthony Edwards under fire after loss

Meanwhile, the star player for the Timberwolves has been frustrated.

After back-to-back 30-point outings, Edwards looked more like the player we saw in Game 1 of the series. He scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting in Game 4. In Game 1, he scored 18 points on 5-of-13 shooting.

Stephen A. Smith didn't hold back when critiquing Edwards' performance.

"Are you the superstar player you proclaim to be or not?," Smith said. ""The fact of the matter is, Ant Man is special. We all know this. You saw how special Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was. That individual pride was what I was looking for."

At halftime of Game 4, social media was quick to criticize Edwards for only having attempted two shots.

Edwards has struggled shooting the ball from deep at times. While he shot 5-for-8 from beyond the 3-point line in their blowout win, he was just 1-for-9 in Game 2 and 1-for-7 in Game 4.

After the game, Edwards claimed that he didn't struggle and that he was making the right basketball plays.

While that could indeed be argued, the Timberwolves need Edwards to find a way to attempt more than 13 shots, especially with their season on the line in Game 5.
