List of Top DeMar DeRozan Trade Destinations Reveals Several Surprising Suitors

DeMar DeRozan arrived in Sacramento last offseason via sign-and-trade. It does not appear his time with the Sacramento Kings will be too long of a stay.

DeRozan was handed a brand-new three-year, $73.9 million contract in 2024 free agency. The veteran star performed well in his first year too.

The six-time All-Star averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists during 35.9 minutes per game in his 77 games played for the Kings. DeRozan added some solid efficiency to go with that, posting shooting splits of 48-33-86.

Despite the relative success of the veteran forward, a front office change has led to a likelihood of his departure from Sacramento. With the Kings set for a potential overhaul, DeRozan will be one of the main names on the chopping block.

DeRozan's top suitors in 2025 offseason

Bovada released the betting favorites to land DeRozan this offseason. Among the group were some surprising candidates.

The Miami Heat lead the charge as +145 favorites to acquire the three-time All-NBA member. With the Heat's middling position in the Eastern Conference, DeRozan could help elevate them out of Play-In positioning.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who are hopeful of title contention in 2025-26, come in at second on the list. The fit of DeRozan next to LeBron James and Luka Doncic appears like an awkward one at first glimpse.

A reunion with the team who drafted DeRozan is third on the list, with the Toronto Raptors holding +375 odds. Perhaps the 16-year pro can provide some leadership for a young group up north.

The Denver Nuggets are fourth here. With Nikola Jokic in desperate need of support, DeRozan represents a cost-friendly option on the trade market.

The Philadelphia 76ers round out the top five. After a disastrous 2024-25 campaign, Daryl Morey's group will need a bounce-back season in 2025-26. Perhaps draft capital and the Paul George contract would create some sort of deal between the parties.
