All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare for their Conference League final.

Chelsea are now in the final stage of their preparations for Wednesday night’s Conference League final with Real Betis. The Blues secured Champions League qualifications over the weekend, and they are looking to make it a truly memorable week by winning silverware.

Anguissa interest

Chelsea have reportedly made an approach to sign Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder has a clause in his contract that could make him available this summer.

The Blues are said to be interested, hoping to land a midfielder to add depth to the middle of the pitch, while Monaco and clubs from the Middle-East are also said to be interested. Anguissa has a history of living in West London having played for Fulham between 2018 and 2022.

Chelsea striker latest

Journalist Ben Jacobs has issued his thoughts on Chelsea’s race to sign a striker. He posted on X: “Chelsea have Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyökeres on their shortlist for a new number nine. They want to move quickly to secure a new striker. Each being pursued by other Premier League clubs as well. Securing #UCL puts Chelsea in a stronger position. Delap expected to decide his future this week and ranks high in Chelsea’s thinking. Chelsea have held positive talks and are optimistic now that #MUFC have no European football.

“Everton and Newcastle have also met Delap. And the Ipswich striker has had new interest from abroad in the past 48 hours. Ekitike likely to cost at least £80m. Frankfurt prefer to keep so will prove tough to negotiate with. #LFC have also enquired. Sesko and Gyökeres are Arsenal’s two main targets now Alexander Isak is likely to stay at #NUFC.

“Sesko will cost €80m if his clause is triggered. Gyökeres can leave Sporting for around €70m. Chelsea pitched to Sesko last summer before he decided to stay at Leipzig. And Chelsea looked at Gyökeres in summer 2023, and again in January 2024, but are yet to make a fresh approach.”

Murphy on Chelsea’s progress

Danny Murphy doesn’t think Chelsea are on the verge of becoming genuine Premier League contenders. He told TalkSPORT: “Now the question is for Chelsea to be Premier League contenders and Champions League contenders. Is he the man that’s going to take them there? Or if he is, are they going to break their normal routine or procedures in terms of recruitment and get two or three more experienced guys in who can help the others because that will help the manager. I think they need to do one.

"I think it's unlikely but they are your two options or because as far as I'm concerned although Chelsea players are improving they've got a good decent talented squad that is not a Premier League-winning team."
