Jalen Ramsey just made 49ers fans' nightmare feel inevitable

The 49ers were happy to see Jalen Ramsey depart the NFC West a while ago, but there are plenty of signs suggesting he'll return soon.

All signs seem to point to the Miami Dolphins parting ways with All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the next few days.

Well, at or after June 1, that is.

And, according to the latest scuttlebutt around the league, the Los Angeles Rams appear to be the team most interested in making a move for Ramsey's services (again). Head coach Sean McVay essentially confirmed as much not long ago.

The seven-time Pro Bowler is likely on the move for cap purposes, and a budding L.A. defense wouldn't mind getting its hands on a player it employed for four years when he secured two first-team All-Pro nods.

Much to the San Francisco 49ers' chagrin.

Jalen Ramsey drops hint he'll be on the move soon

With five days ahead of the June 1 designation date, which opens up cap benefits for players moved at that date, Ramsey tweeted out a cryptic note that almost ensure he'll soon be on the move:

The number "5" just five days ahead of that June 1 date.

Sounds like a final countdown.

Granted, there are 30 other teams aside from Los Angeles and Miami, and his tweet isn't exactly a guarantee the Dolphins move him by then.

However, connecting the dots, it appears as if a Ramsey trade involving his No. 1 likeliest suitor, the Rams, is all but inevitable.

For the Niners, who likely see L.A. as the biggest challenge within the NFC West heading into 2025, a rival stockpiling defensive talent is not exactly the most welcomed news. Sure, at 30 years old, Ramsey's best days might be behind him. Yet he's still playing at a high level and would surely improve Los Angeles' defense heading into the new season.

Hopefully, there's a non-NFC West team in play for his services, too.
