Mohamed Salah reckons he can keep on playing football for years to come despite turning 33 next month.
The Liverpool forward said he remains unsure where exactly his future lies once his new two-year deal with the club expires. However, he hinted that he could one day end up in the Saudi Pro League.
Salah is confident though that whatever happens, he believes he'll still be kicking a ball professionally when he's 40. Speaking to Egyptian television channel ON Sports, before fans were horrifically mowed down by a car during the club's victory parade on Monday, he said: "I will stop playing when I have that feeling.

"But if you ask me for my opinion, I think I can play until the age of 39 or 40. But if I felt before that I wanted to stop, I would quit. I have achieved a lot of things.”
In September 2023, Al-Ittihad had a £150million bid turned down for Salah - one of football's most sought-after players - before he decided sign an extension deal with Liverpool last month. He explained: “I thought it was a good opportunity.

"My contract was up at Liverpool and I would have gone to Saudi but we finalised the deal with Liverpool." Yet the Premier League star, who has scored 186 Premier League goals for Liverpool and Chelsea, admits that he is still in contact with Saudi clubs.
He said: "I still have a good relationship with them and I always stay in contact with them. Yes, we were talking to each other.

“I don’t know what is going to happen but I am happy here in Liverpool and I am staying here for the next two years. Then I will see what I will do next.”
Earlier this month, Salah admitted that he was saddened by the trolling of another Liverpool legend, Trent Alexander-Arnold, after he told fans he was leaving the Reds at the end of the season. The 26-year-old is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer.
Despite giving his all at the club since he was six years old, Alexander-Arnold was met by boos when coming off the bench during their clash with Arsenal on May 11.
Salah later said in an interview on Sky Sports: "I think he deserves the best farewell leaving the club; he's done a lot for the city and the club and he's probably the best players in the club's history. I think he needs a new challenge, it's his decision for sure... He's won it twice or three times, what more can he do?
"I think the fans were being harsh with him - I think he didn't deserve that and he deserves the fans to treat him the best way possible. Because he's given it all to the fans."
