The 12-word message Rúben Amorim sent Alejandro Garnacho has been revealed as he told the player that he is free to leave Manchester United this summer.
Manchester United’s summer rebuild is underway with real intensity, as Rúben Amorim moves swiftly to mould the squad to his vision ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelöf will leave once their contracts expire, while Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly been told he is free to find a new club. Rasmus Højlund could also depart if a suitable offer arrives.
Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia are among the players expected to be sold, with United aiming to generate over £100 million to boost Amorim’s transfer funds.
Amorim is prioritising reinforcements in attack and midfield, targeting players who can enhance the team’s creativity, control, and physical presence. With a clear strategy and firm backing from the club, United are preparing for a major overhaul to build a more dynamic, Premier League-ready side.
Amorim’s brutal 12-word message to Garnacho revealed
Garnacho was informed that he would be free to find a new club this summer during a team meeting with Amorim on Saturday afternoon, around 24 hours before the side defeated Aston Villa 2-0 on the final day of the Premier League season.
According to MailSport, the exact 12-word phrase Amorim uttered to Garnacho in the meeting that left United players in shock went as follows: “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you.”
The stunning turn of phrase from the United head coach has left United’s squad and Garnacho himself in no doubt that he has already played his final competitive minutes for the club, although he may still be afforded minutes on the pitch during United’s post-season tour.
The club are set to face ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday before flying to face Hong Kong in Hong Kong, China, on Friday.

Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is reportedly set to meet with Manchester United officials this week to revive talks for the Argentina international, having previously seen their January approach turned down.
United are believed to be seeking around £60 million, though sources close to the negotiations reportedly suggest a deal could be agreed for nearer £50 million.
Chelsea have also maintained interest after making an enquiry in January, but Napoli currently lead the race, with their pursuit understood to be at a more advanced stage.
