Eight junior pros will follow Jamie Vardy, Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward out the doors at Leicester. These players were all out of contract. They had reached a certain age, which made them surplus to requirements at the club.

Harvey Godsmark-Ford surprisingly is on this list of departures as the U.21 captain appeared in 15 PL2 games last season, scoring 1 goal. Leicester ended in a respectable 10th postion.

Another defender who has been a steady performer and part a long servant to Leicester is Joe Wormleighton. Wormleighton has made the first team squad on occasions. It was believed he would progress. People thought he would take the step into the first team frame. However, being on this list surely stopped a potential future at LCFC.

Leicester have many players under contract in the first team squad. This forces the club to make decisions like this. To see Oli Ewing among the players on this list is also sad. The Wales U.21 international spent the latter part of this season on loan at Buxton. He will be picked up by a league club for sure.

We earlier reported about Deniche Hill, who reported last week on his instagram that he would leave Leicester. The Bermuda international only played 6 times in PL2 last season. He joined the club in December 2022.

Ben Grist is also among the players released. The 20 year old joined Leicester from Grimsby back in December 2021. He has since January been on loan at Worksop Town.

Goalkeeper Brad Young is the next man on this list. He has this season been back at his former club Hartlepool United. The England U.20 international was seen as an exciting signing, but know his continous career will be elsewhere.

Defender Liam McAlinney (19) has also been released. He has been capped at Ireland U.18 level and appeared for Stoke City in April. There is no confirmation he has joined The Potters on a permanent deal. However, he left the club earlier to take part elsewhere.

The last name on the released list of players confirmed today was Arjan Raikhy. Raikhy has been on loan at Tamworth since January. He made a brief impact last season under Enzo Maresca. He was named on the bench and given his debut. However, injuries and tough competition for places have caused the former Aston Villa player to move on.

Brandon Cover, Silko Thomas and Chris Popov are other players out of contract. They were not on this official list of released players, but no news about contract extension yet. They were all out on loan this season. Popov up at Barrow, Thomas with Wigan and Cover having spells at Port Vale and Fleetwood.
