The Sacramento Kings, in their effort to compete in a loaded Western Conference, need to address two things if they plan on staying the course and not rebuilding. There is not a true, NBA starting point guard on the roster, and between Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine, the Kings struggle to defend.
While adding a player like Jrue Holiday or Marcus Smart would help solve both of those problems, the Kings will likely have to make more than one move this summer.
FanSided'sCaleb Crowley suggested a trade that would shore up the Kings' defense and give them one of the more formidable frontcourts in the NBA.

Sabonis is one of the best offensive centers in the NBA and has long been the best rebounder in the league, although his definitive limitations are glaring. The Kings, it was proposed, could add Domantas Sabonis.
Full Mock Trade Details
Kings receive: Jarrett Allen
Cavaliers receive: Jonas Valanciunas, Terence Davis, three first-round picks
The Kings lose a depth piece and mortgage their future in this deal, although a starting five of "Point Guard TBD," DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Sabonis, and Allen is pretty formidable, especially in a Western Conference dominated by big men like Nikola Jokic, Chet Holmgren, Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Davis, and even Ivica Zubac.
Allen is one of the best answers in the league, and Sabonis' floor spacing allows for him to roam the paint while the Lithuanian can play a more perimeter-based game.
When a shot is missed, the Kings will have two elite rebounders to mop up misses and kick them back out.
While this trade is not a true fix to all of Sacramento's issues, it is a step in the right direction and leaves some assets to dangle in a trade for a floor general, or they could sign a cheaper free agent.
