Joan Garcia continues to be linked with a [move to Barcelona](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/26/24437276/espanyol-boss-reveals-his-advice-to-joan-garcia-amid-talk-of-barcelona-transfer) this summer and some new comments have come to light that may just offer the Catalans hope of landing the stopper.
The [goalkeeper has already admitted he’s yet to make a decision on his future](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/27/24437890/joan-garcia-breaks-silence-on-espanyol-future-amid-barcelona-transfer-talk) and has said he’ll “choose what will be best for me.”
As part of the same interview (which will be broadcast in full at the weekend), it’s now been revealed that he’s also admitted he would not have a problem coming up against his current employers.
> “It wouldn’t be a problem to face Espanyol,” he told Tot Gira.
>
> “It would be nice too. These things can happen, but I try to look on the bright side of things, and if it happens, I would be excited about it.”
It’s previously been reported that Garcia isn’t keen on a move to Barcelona, due to the rivalry between the two clubs, and would rather head to the Premier League instead.
Yet those comments suggest he’s not closed the door on a move to Barca and is still very much thinking things over.
