Broncos Make Announcement on the Late Demaryius Thomas on Tuesday

As the Denver Broncos eye a new season in 2025, offseason moves have been made, and their most recent one had to do with the late Demaryius Thomas.

Thomas was drafted in the first round (22nd overall) out of Georgia Tech by the Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft and played for the team for nine seasons.

He served as Peyton Manning's No. 1 option in his tenure with the team from 2012 to 2015.

After being one of the greatest Denver Broncos receivers in the team's history, Thomas retired from the NFL in 2021.

He also played with the Houston Texans and New York Jets in the back half of his career before officially retiring from the NFL in 2021.

It's been announced that the Broncos are inducting Thomas into the team's Ring of Fame on Tuesday.

He holds franchise records in single-season (1,619) receiving yards and single-game (226) receiving yards for the Broncos, along with being second in franchise history for receiving yards (9,055) and touchdowns (60).

Some other accolades that Thomas reached in his 11-year career include being elected to five different Pro Bowls, two Second-Team All-Pro honors as well as winning Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.

Shortly after announcing his retirement from the NFL, Thomas passed away on December 9, 2021, after having complications with seizures.

Although his No. 88 isn't officially retired by the Broncos, there hasn't been a player who's worn the number for the franchise since Thomas did in his tenure with the team.
