“Working His Way Back”: Atlanta Falcons Share Hopeful Injury Update on 3rd Round Pick

The Atlanta Falcons kick started voluntary organized team activities on May 27 and will be held on the 28 and 30 before a short break. They will return for three practices next week, June 2, 3, and 5. Once OTAs finish, the Falcons will transition into their final spring practice session, mandatory minicamp, which will take place on June 10 and 11.

Highlighting one of the players who did not practice was their third-round pick from last year.

Bralen Trice was poised for a significant role on defense and to potentially start in his rookie season. Unfortunately for the young pass rusher, a significant injury during the preseason prevented him from playing at all in 2024. Trice suffered a season-ending ACL tear during the second quarter of their preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Trice was one of the few players who did not participate on the first day of OTAs. He is currently nine months removed from an injury that typically takes nine to twelve months to recover from.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Raheem Morris gave an injury update on Bralen Trice. Morris shared that Trice is still not ready for practice and full participation as he continues to spend most of his time with the physical therapist. Although the Falcons don’t have a specific timetable for return, they hope he will be ready for training camp.

“He is at the point where he’s out there with our PT,” Morris said, via Terrin Waack of the team’s website. “I don’t want to misstep with my words. He is with him most of the time. He’s doing a couple things on the side. He’s doing a lot of the running things. But definitely not at the ‘full’ category yet if we were doing some of those things. So, he’s working his way back.”
