Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns finished last season 3-14, which was a tremendous disappointment coming off a postseason berth the year prior. There were many factors out of the control of the coaching staff, such as poor play and injuries to key players, but in a results-driven league, none of that matters.
The 43-year-old is a two-time AP NFL Coach of the Year and remains the only Browns coach this century to win a postseason game, and just the second since 2000 to receive a contract extension after Romeo Crennel in 2008. He's also just the second Browns coach to lead the team to multiple postseason appearances since Marty Schottenheimer.
But with a 40-44 overall record after five seasons, some are questioning his future in the City of Light.
ESPN's Ben Solak named Stefanski in his list of 11 jobs with question marks in the NFL.
"I have no idea what the goalposts are for Stefanski this season, but the team was 3-14 last year, and another three-win season wouldn't surprise me in the slightest," Solak wrote. "I will say this with complete conviction: Stefanski seems like an excellent veteran OC retread option if and when the Browns clean house. He has made the best out of the Browns' QB carousel and navigated major offensive injuries over the past two seasons."
Stefanski has never won a division title in a very competitive AFC North, with his best finish being 2nd in 2023 when the team finished with an 11-6 record.
If the team struggles out of the gate again in 2025, fair or not, Stefanski could be on the hot seat.
