Bullish Enzo Maresca tells critics to 'F off' after Chelsea secure Champions League return
Enzo Maresca told critics to ‘F off’ following Chelsea’s huge 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on the final day of the Premier League season. The victory means the Blues have qualified for next-season’s Champions League at the expense of Forest and Aston Villa who lost 2-0 at Manchester United. During his post-match press conference at the City Ground, the Italian chose to hit out at those who doubted his young side. ‘I didn’t have any doubt about the players. The doubt was from outside,’ he said. ‘All the ones that have the answers or the ones that have the truth, they were saying that we are too young, we are not good enough, they were waiting for Aston Villa to drop points for us to achieve the Champions League. ‘They were saying that we were not able to win on this pitch because we are too young, because we are not experienced. Unfortunately for them, they have all been wrong. All the ones that have the truth and have the answer to everything. ‘So in English, how you say? F off to all
Real Betis, meanwhile, finished 15th in the league stage standings with three wins in six games. The Seville-based club defeated Fiorentina 4-3 on aggregate in the semifinals to advance to the title game against Chelsea.

However, the Verdiblancos have are winless in their last five games in all competitions, drawing four of those outings. The one loss in that span came in a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Atlético Madrid.

Chelsea eye Hugo Ekitike as top summer transfer target
Chelsea are extremely interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike ahead of the summer transfer window. Having sealed Champions League qualification over the weekend after beating Nottingham Forest, the Blues have discussed a move for Ekitike, 22, who is very high on their transfer wish list. However, Enzo Maresca's side will have to splash an astronomical fee with the forward rated at around (£83.9m). The France Under-21 international joined Frankfurt in 2024 following a loan stint from Paris Saint-Germain and has registered 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances this campaign. The west London outfit are also keeping tabs on several other strikers, including Ipswich Town's Liam Delap and Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres.
