Following the long holiday weekend, the Jacksonville Jaguars continued Organized Team Activities (OTAs) on Tuesday with another hot and humid Jacksonville affair. But the heat wasn't only in the atmosphere, as the action on the field lit up early and often with multiple periods of competitive 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 ready to play early on, Coen’s offense and Campanile's defense equally came to play in this one.
Here are our takeaways from OTA day four and Coen and Campanile's post-practice media availability.

Takeaways from OTA Day 4:
Getting guys back to their natural weights
Liam Coen and Anthony Campanile both spoke about the organizational and personal decisions made this offseason to get players back to their natural playing weights. Per Campanile:
"It’s really more so that we meet as an organization with the strength staff and kind of look at what we think the best way for those guys to go is in terms of their weight. But also, in my opinion, when you’re a pro, you usually know 'when am I at optimal speed? Where am I my strongest, where I’m not losing strength or losing speed?' I think those guys did a great job with that in the offseason when they were away from here and coming back in great shape."
To that point, both LB Devin Lloyd and DE Hines-Allen look noticeably lighter in 2025. However, DE Travon Walker confirmed with the media that he’s only about 3 pounds lighter, personally. However, he confirmed that his his body composition is different currently which some might interpret as more muscle mass, yet an overall lighter weight.
Travis Hunter practices on defense
As rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter continues to primarily work on offense in the early days of the off-season, Coach Coen confirned that Hunter has not only been in defense meetings every day he practices on offense, but he also practiced with the defense last Wednesday, in a closed practice.
"It was good. He’s still learning, he’s been learning a ton defensively and offensively, as we know. But that was more so fundamentals, techniques. It wasn’t a ton of 11-on-11, seven on, it was fundamentals, techniques, communication. That was kind of what last Wednesday was, and he’s been learning with those guys and meeting with them extra as he’s needed to."
In today's practice, Hunter ended the day with about four catches in the team period, after bouncing back from an early 11-on-11 drop on a deep throw from Trevor Lawrence.
What can Brown do for you?
WR Dyami Brown has been heating up. With really strong outtings in both Day 1 and today's practice, Brown has slowly continued to show an early acclimation into this Liam Coen offense. With two 20+ yard catches in 7-on-7, another 25 yarder and 15 yarder in 11-on-11s, Dyami wrapped up today with around 6 noticable catches on the day in teams periods.
Pass catchers step up their game Tuesday
Tuesday was a quality showing by Brian Thomas Jr with four noted catches in the teams period. However, catches by TE Brenton Stange and UDFA WR Cam Camper easily owned the day. Strange came down with an impossible grab over CB Jarrian Jones, getting both feet down on the sideline after highpointing the perfect Trevor Lawrence throw.

Yet, the catche of the day award still somehow escaped Brenton, after Nick Mullens completed a 60 to 70-yard throw and catch to UDFA WR Cam Camper, who narrowly caught the backend of the ball over Safety Rayuan Lane and DB Doneiko Slaughter. It was a highly improbable catch and throw, resulting in both Lane and Slaughter colliding, while Camper trotted the remaining 30 yards to the endzone.
Defense makes a few splash plays
In the secondary, CB Jarrian Jones had a quality day at the office. While Jones did give up a few really difficult, contested catches (in an unpadded practice with no contact), he forced multiple incompletions on the day also.
Meanwhile, S Dewey Wingard walked away with an interception, courtesy of QB Trevor Lawrence. The throw from Lawrence was made into coverage, intended for Dyami Brown. Wingard read Lawrence’s eyes and jumped the route. For a visual (as this was during the non-recorded period of the day), it played out pretty similar to Wingard’s redzone interception of Lawrence in last years Training Camp.
Also, CB Montaric 'Buster' Brown has continued to make a name for himself in Anthony Campanile's 2025 defense. After playing primarily man coverage in Ryan Nielsen's 2024 defense, Campanile specifically noted Brown's play following Wednesday's practice.
"I think Buster [CB Montaric Brown] has done a great job, too. He’s really been physical on the line of scrimmage. I know I talked about Jarrian and Jourdan already. But Buster’s done a really good job. He’s a super diligent guy, too. Really, really detailed in what he does. I’ve had a lot of fun coaching him and being around him to this point."
Respect the leg
Sophomore K Cam Little put his finishing touches on today's practice drilling a 63-yarder at the end of the 11-on-11 teams period that likely would have been made from 70-yards out. Little may be just 20-years of age, but a genetics test feels warranted at this point, because his leg clearly has old man strength.
Cleaner than OTA Day 1
With the team progressing through OTAs fans and media were able to, for the second consecutive week, see the team practice following a three-day weekend. Coach Coen seemed to be more of a fan of the growth he's seen from his squad, comparatively, over the past week.
“I thought (the day went) better than probably expected, that way in terms of bodies on the ground and practicing cleaner. It was much cleaner than day one, let’s just say. When you’re just trying to come in and get it going again after a few days off, I thought it was definitely cleaner. Was it perfect? No, but I thought it was better than the previous Monday, if you will.”
Etienne absent
Finally, RB Travis Etienne, WR Louis Rees-Zammit, & OL Cooper Hodges were all not seen on the field at today’s voluntary OTA. Travis Etienne's absence was due to a flight issue, per Coach Coen. While Coen did not address Cooper Hodges, it is likely that he is still recovering and/or rehabbing from his 2024 "significant lower right leg injury" that placed him on IR after the week 9, November 3rd Philadelphia Eagles matchup. As a note, that injury, while to the same leg was different than his 2023 dislocated right knee cap that forced him to miss his rookie season.
