New Play-Caller Seen As Main Storyline For Eagles in OTAs

As the Philadelphia Eagles begin the next phase of their offseason workouts as the defending Super Bowl champions, the organization knows they have many storylines and questions to answer.

The change at offensive play-caller is at the top of the list of concerns.

Kevin Patullo, formerly the team's pass-game coordinator, was promoted to offensive coordinator following the departure of Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints. Patullo has been with the Eagles since he joined Nick Sirianni in 2021.

Now, he gets to run an offense in his own image.

That's why NBC Sports Philadelphia's own Dave Zangaro believes Patullo's rise will be the top storyline moving forward during OTA practices.

"It’s hard to imagine the offense looking significantly different in 2025 than it did in 2024 or previous years," Zangaro said. "After all, Moore was the guy who was supposed to bring a bunch of new ideas to the table but some of those changes were more subtle.

"The big question with Patullo can’t be answered this spring or even in training camp. We’ll have to wait for the season to see how he fares calling offensive plays. Most who have been around Patullo think he’ll have a knack for it but we’ll see."

Players like Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown have all spoken out to compliment their new play-caller.

As always, though, Patullo will need to show his worth on the field when games actually matter. Anything else won't do for the Philadelphia sports fanbase.
