The summer transfer window is just around the corner, and Manchester United could be set to have a busy few months ahead. Wolves star Matheus Cunha continues to be linked with a move to United this summer.
The Brazilian is not the only player being tipped to move to Old Trafford when the transfer window opens, with several rumours emerging over the last few weeks. Ruben Amorim and Co. will be busy preparing for next season over the next few weeks, with such plans likely to include the upcoming transfer window.
With no European football for next term, it remains to be seen what business United will be able to get over the line in terms of new signings.
Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
Hugo Ekitike 'interest'
It has been reported by Caught Offside that United are showing an interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The report claims that United will battle Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea for the striker's signature this summer. Various reports have claimed that Frankfurt value Ekitike at around £84million.
United are reportedly monitoring Ekitike as the summer transfer window approaches but are yet to make a decision about whether they will pursue a deal to bring the player to Old Trafford.
MEN Sport says: It has been clear for some time that United want to strengthen their forward options, particularly in the centre forward position. Ekitike has been linked with a host of clubs ahead of the summer, so if United do want to sign a new No. 9, it should be no surprise the former Paris Saint-Germain star is under consideration.
Burnley goalkeeper 'wanted'
United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.
Trafford recently helped the Clarets secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, with 29 clean sheets along the way in the Championship.
Give Me Sport have reported that United are weighing up a move for Trafford as a potential replacement for Andre Onana.
However, it has not been stated what fee Burnley would demand for Trafford's signature.
MEN Sport says: United have been linked with signing a new goalkeeper for the majority of the season amid uncertainty about Onana's future. If United and Burnley can agree on a fee for Trafford, it would be interesting to see how the goalkeeper would fare in the Premier League and at Old Trafford.
