Manchester United will play their first post-season tour fixture against ASEAN All-Stars later today. Ruben Amorim's play matches in Malaysia and Hong Kong this week as part of a lucrative tour that will earn the club an estimated £7.8 million in revenue.
Ruben Amorim has named a 32-man squad for the two matches in Asia and is expected to name a star-studded starting line up when they face ASEAN All-Stars at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. United will then fly to Hong Kong where they will face Hong Kong in their second match.
The tour will give players a final chance to alter Amorim's plans ahead of a seismic summer transfer window at Old Trafford. United are open to offers for just about every senior player in the forthcoming window and plan to streamline their squad ahead of a reduced fixture calendar next season. Manchester United flew to Malaysia on Sunday night, just hours after they had defeated Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season. Ruben Amorim named a strong 32-man squad for the trip, with Alejandro Garnacho included just a day after he was told he could find a new club this summer.
Lisandro Martinez has not travelled to Asia with the rest of his teammates as he continues his rehabilitation from anterior cruciate ligament surgery. The Argentine is expected to be sidelined for six months from when he suffered his setback at the start of February, though he had travelled to Bilbao for the Europa League final.
Leny Yoro has also missed out on the trip after he aggravated a foot injury after the recent defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, while Noussair Mazraoui will not feature after he suffered a hamstring injury in the final day win over Aston Villa. At full-time of the Villa win, United confirmed Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen would all leave the club as free agents this summer. Lindelof and Eriksen will not feature on the tour as they prepare themselves for summer transfers, though Evans will feature ahead of a possible retirement.
