At last, that's over. Ipswich Town’s miserable Premier League campaign has come to an end in a game which probably summed up our entire campaign.
I think we're all a bit fed up talking about defeats now, aren’t we? But sadly, a division we longed to be a part of for 22 years has eaten us up and spat us right back out. It's been pretty grim and Sunday showcased that.
West Ham were gift-wrapped their first goal, Broady got us back in it, only for two moments of quality to confirm the result. Isn't that a familiar feeling?

I thought Town were ‘in it’ up until the new year. We were within touching distance of safety and had some pretty decent days up until that point.
I can't help revert back to that game away at Fulham early January. We should've won that day and what a statement victory that might've been, but silly mistakes and poor defending meant we had to settle for a point and we've been pretty poor since.
Town's 2025 has been abysmal. Nine defeats in a row at home and only one victory. It’s been horrible and we’ve lacked the momentum and camaraderie which got us here in the first place.
Why is that? It's hard to say really. One thing I do think we got wrong was our January recruitment. The previous two January windows have been the difference. The signings made propelled us on to promotion and without them, we probably don't go up.
But this January didn’t have that same affect. The Ben Godfrey signing was bizarre, Julio Enciso has been inconsistent and Jaden Philogene? Well, I’ve not seen anything yet to justify the 21m we spent on him. Alex Palmer has probably been the only one who’s done well and even he’s struggled a little recently.
It just hasn’t worked out for us. Decisions have gone against us, leads have been thrown away and now some of us are desperate to get out of a league we spent two decades wishing to be in, which is sad.
Whatever and wherever, we’ll still be there and I’m looking forward to next season. I just hope the next time Town find themselves in the top flight, we’re able to fight a little bit more than we have done this time.
