Chelsea predicted XI vs Real Betis as Enzo Maresca makes four changes from win against Nottingham Forest

Chelsea have had to quickly put their heroics against Nottingham Forest behind them to prepare for the final of the Conference League against Real Betis.

The Blues have had a relatively easy time of things in Europe so far this season, with Enzo Maresca making mass changes to his side for Thursday night games.

The likes of Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong have made their name as first team players in the Conference League, although could be disappointed when the squad for the final is named.

Betis have enjoyed a similarly strong campaign in Europe, and Manchester United loanee Antony has been a revelation since making the move to Spain.

The Chelsea Chronicle have predicted who will start for Chelsea when they look to complete their European trophy cabinet in Poland on Wednesday.

Chelsea predicted XI vs Real Betis

Maresca has already confirmed that despite Robert Sanchez’s good form, Filip Jorgensen will continue his run of featuring in this competition with a start in the final.

Club captain Reece James has been managed brilliantly by the boss in his recovery from injury, and he will start his second game in three days from right-back.

The first change from Sunday will come in the form of Trevoh Chalobah replacing Tosin Adarabioyo. Both have impressed greatly, particularly in the second half of the season.

Sunday’s hero Levi Colwill will retain his place in the side, leaving Benoit Badiashile to watch on from the bench.

At left-back, Marc Cucurella remains the only realistic option to start for the Blues. He has enjoyed an excellent personal campaign in all competitions.

With Romeo Lavia unavailable, the midfield picks itself really. Moises Caicedo will start at the base.

He will be joined by Enzo Fernandez, who has found goal involvements easy to come by in the Conference League so far this season. He has six combined goals and assists in 250 minutes so far.

Ahead of those two, Cole Palmer will be looking to score his first European goal for Chelsea after not touching the field during the group stages.

On the right, Noni Madueke will retain his place ahead of Pedro Neto, with Maresca having the opportunity to rotate on the opposite side.

The other wing will be occupied by Jadon Sancho, who could be about to play his last game for the club following the end of his loan spell at Stamford Bridge.

Up front, Nicolas Jackson will return as his suspension does not carry into European games. He was unable to feature in the Blues’ last two league matches of the season.
