Aston Villa to reveal pricing proposals as key season ticket announcement nears

Pricing proposals for next season will be presented at a meeting of the fan advisory board (FAB) on Wednesday evening, the final stage of a consultation process which began in February.

Villa, who have increased the cost of season tickets significantly over the past three seasons, are one of only four Premier League clubs still to announce prices for the 2025-26 campaign.

Several groups, including the Villa Supporters’ Trust, have urged the club to follow the lead of several top-flight rivals by freezing prices.

A statement released in February described such a move as “crucial for the long-term spirit of the club”.

The subsequent delay in confirming prices now has fans fearing a further rise after supporters in hospitality areas reported an increase of around five per cent during their renewal window last month. A change to the way away match tickets are sold is also expected.

Villa’s pricing strategy for this season’s Champions League matches was the subject of fierce criticism after supporters were charged up to £97 to attend.

The club defended the prices, claiming they were necessary to help boost revenues and help comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Those same revenues have now been damaged by Villa’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition.

President of business operations, Chris Heck, who bore the brunt of criticism over ticket prices, formally leaves his role after two years on Friday.

His replacement, Francesco Calvo, is expected to join from Juventus next month.
