Real Betis and Chelsea face off in the final of the UEFA Conference League on Wednesday evening. With the 2024/25 La Liga and Premier League seasons finally wrapped up, both clubs will head into the game with one last shot of silverware ahead of the summer transfer window, after failing to excel domestically.
Betis will play Europa League football next season regardless of the result at the Stadion Wroclaw, after finishing sixth in La Liga. However, Los Verdiblancos will still have high hopes of winning this year's Conference League outright after battling stiff competition to make it to the final.
After finishing 15th in the group stage of the tournament, Betis beat Gent, Vitoria SC, Jagiellionia, and Fiorentina to earn a tough showdown with Chelsea. Under Enzo Maresca in his debut season as manager, Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League, so they will play in the Champions League come 2025/26 regardless of a win or a loss on Wednesday.
However, after missing out on FA Cup and League Cup glory, the young Blues side will be determined to celebrate some form of silverware to show for their efforts this term. Chelsea topped the group table in the Conference League and advanced straight to the round of 16 – so they have played one less round than Betis to make it to the final.
With wins over Copenhagen, Legia Warszawa, and Djurgarden, the Premier League giants will have their sights firmly set on one more win against their La Liga adversaries. With an action packed night of football ahead, Mirror Football breaks down how fans can tune into the action for free...
