Report: Peter Schmeichel compared Man Utd youngster is in high demand across Europe, two factors pushing him toward exit

The goalkeeping position at Manchester United this summer is expected to be completely overhauled.

It was a bad campaign for the goalkeepers of Manchester United, with neither showing any reason to be confident in their performances.

Despite his obvious goalkeeping ability, Andre Onana was making mistakes far too regularly, which proved costly for Ruben Amorim’s side. This has left the United head coach desiring a new number one goalkeeper.

However, it was not only Onana who struggled, as Altay Bayindir also had some devastating lows. The Turkey international conceded four goals in two of his three Premier League starts, and also four against Tottenham in the League Cup.

Due to this, United could sign two goalkeepers this summer, as Tom Heaton appears to be the only senior keeper not for sale, as he is a good figure to have around the club.

Now, the stance on one of the talented young goalkeepers at the club has emerged.

Manchester United could sell Radek Vitek this summer

With the goalkeeper shake-up expected, Radek Vitek may have envisioned himself getting an opportunity after an impressive loan.

Vitek had a wonderful season at Blau Linz, in Austria, where he became a hero in goal, emerging as one of the league’s very best.

It has been suggested that Vitek could be the successor to Onana in goal due to his impressive involvement. Now, the Daily Mail has reported that Vitek’s future at United is far from assured.

It is claimed that while being under contract until 2027, Vitek could be sold this summer in a similar manner to Matej Kovar back in 2023.

Numerous clubs are following Vitek across Europe, and now United must decide whether he is to be kept or sold this summer to raise funds.

The report claims that while Vitek’s quality is not doubted, the emergence of Elyh Harrison from the academy and also the desire to sign a new number one this summer are both pushing Vitek toward the door.

Selling would be disappointing, with Vitek having qualities that suggest he is going to be a top goalkeeper.

Ineos should reconsider selling Peter Schmeichel regen

Vitek has a lot of the qualities that make a goalkeeper great, with his 6ft 6″ frame towering above all opposition, which makes him a dominant aerial goalkeeper.

For this trait and others, such as his shot-stopping, Vitek has previously been compared with Peter Schmeichel, a United legend, which is high praise.

During his loan spell with Blau Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga, Vitek proved his quality, ranking fourth in the league for high claims and first for punches.

Vitek was the division’s best goalkeeper, and it is clear to see why, which raises the question of why United would sell, when he could easily replace Bayindir or even Onana in the coming years.

Harrison is an elite young shot-stopping prospect; however, right now, Vitek is ready in all aspects, and selling would be a mistake.
