Antony Could Hand Man Utd A Cash Boost

Manchester United are tracking Antony and his progress closely as the Conference League final draws near. The club has a financial reward on the line.

Antony Win Could Hand United a Cash Bonus

Real Betis will face Chelsea on Wednesday in the UEFA Conference League final. Should Betis win the title, Manchester Utd might earn a nice sum. And all eyes at Old Trafford are on Antony.

Since moving on loan in January, the Brazilian winger has rediscovered his spark. He has so far managed to score nine goals and provided five assists in 25 appearances. According to reports from Spain, Utd included several bonus clauses in Antony’s loan deal. Of which, one guarantees a £300,000 payout if Betis lift the Conference League trophy. And Antony has played more than half of the matches in the competition, a requirement he has already met.

The 24-year-old even bagged two goals and assisted once in the semi-final win over Fiorentina. He is making himself a key figure in Betis’ European push.

More Money Coming In Thanks to League Finish

It’s not just the final that could benefit Utd’s bank balance. Betis’ sixth-place finish in La Liga has secured them a Europa League spot for next season. That has triggered another clause in Antony’s loan agreement. This means Utd will collect an extra £125,000, on top of the potential Conference League bonus.

These payments are due by July 10. This gives both clubs flexibility on which season’s accounts to credit them to. That is either the 2024/25 or 2025/26 campaigns. Although, Betis didn’t manage to qualify for the Champions League. The Red Devils missed out on further bonus payments. The Brazilian winger’s loan stint has been life changing moment in his career.

After struggling at Old Trafford, the winger recently admitted he even thought about quitting football.

Betis are now keen to sell and get some money to reinvest. So, Antony’s future remains uncertain. For the time being, a return to Manchester Utd is still also on the cards.
