'Disappointed' Man City And Arsenal Target Demands 'Talks' Over Future As Speculation Over £67M Move Increases

Manchester City transfer target Rodrygo is “disappointed” with his lack of game time and wants to hold “talks” about his role with new Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso, according to Football Espana.

The Cityzens, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest in recruiting the Brazilian international if he decides to leave the Bernabeu

For his part, Alonso has said that he will “need” Rodrygo next season but he has not held face-to-face discussions with the player about his future yet.

As Alonso prefers a 3-5-2 system, there is unlikely to be a place for the 24-year-old in the Spaniard’s best eleven.

Rodrygo will, therefore, want extra assurances about the minutes he will get, or he may request a transfer.

Real want to tie down Rodrygo to a new contract

Despite the Brazilian harbouring doubts, Football Espana suggest that the player could be offered fresh terms to reinforce his commitment to the La Liga giants.

However, it’s unlikely that Rodrygo would consider such a proposal until he holds conversations with Alonso and discovers how often he will feature next season.

City are looking to add firepower

It is expected to be a busy summer at the Etihad with Director of Football Hugo Viana set to oversee a significant overhaul of the squad.

With Kevin De Bruyne leaving on a free transfer, and Jack Grealish also seemingly heading for the exit door, there will be big holes to fill in the final third of the pitch.

Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is believed to have been added to the club’s shortlist, which also includes Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.

The question is: will Rodrygo also become a top target? The Real Madrid star has been on the club’s radar for several years, but he could cost at least €80m (£67m) to sign.
