Daniel Podence now tells Wolves captain Nelson Semedo where he should play next

Wolves fans are waiting for Nelson Semedo to make a decision about his future – and Daniel Podence has made a suggestion to the Molineux captain.

Speculation is rife about Nelson Semedo at the moment, with his contract expiring this summer.

Wolves have put a four-year extension offer on the table for Semedo, who is now considering his options.

The player has already filmed a goodbye video at Molineux just in case he departs, and a picture did the rounds last week on social media that showed a removal van at his home.

Semedo was serenaded by fans after Wolves’ final game against Brentford on Sunday, and that had looked like the player saying goodbye.

But Semedo updated fans on Instagram to say he’d be going away to think about what to do, and made a decision with his family.

Ideally Wolves will know soon what he intends to do, but Daniel Podence is keen for him to make one move in particular.

Semedo has interest from Benfica at the moment, and a return to his former club is something that could well happen.

It was surprisingly claimed that Manchester United also have interest in Semedo, which was formulated as they discussed a move for Matheus Cunha.

And of course, Semedo could yet stay at Molineux with a generous four-year deal on the table for him.

But given his status as a soon-to-be free agent, it’s possible there could be interest from many other clubs but it just hasn’t been made public yet.

Earlier this week, Semedo posted that he was still deciding his future.

And many people left comments, and there was also one left by Daniel Podence.

Podence, who left Wolves last summer to join Al-Shabab, is hoping to see his former teammate make a move to Saudi Arabia now.

He wrote: “@alshababsaudifc is waiting on you my broo 🥰🥰😍😍😍😍”

Semedo doesn’t need to make Saudi move

It will be fascinating to see what Semedo decides to do.

The Portugal international is still at the top of his game, and has plenty of suitors.

He surely doesn’t need to be making a move to Saudi Arabia, although we have seen Podence and also Ruben Neves both go there in recent times.

Appearances – 182

Goals – 3

Assists – 11

The finances on offer there are obviously hugely tempting for players.

But perhaps the 2026 World Cup will be a factor for Semedo when deciding where to play next.

He’s been making the squad regularly playing at Wolves, so perhaps that is something Wanderers fans can cling to.
