The future of Ederson remains uncertain heading into the summer transfer window.
After spending the last eight seasons at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson is expected to leave Man City this summer; however, the Premier League club have not yet received a formal offer for the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Saudi Arabian clubs have been interested in the 31-year-old for some time, with Al-Ittihad keen on signing Ederson this summer, which would leave City to search for the goalkeeper’s replacement.
The Manchester club have several options in their transfer list, but their top target may have dropped a hint on his future.

Joan Garcia hints that he wants to remain in La Liga
It was reported this week that Espanyol’s Joan Garcia is Man City’s top target to replace Ederson this summer, as the Spanish goalkeeper has had a very impressive season in La Liga.
The 24-year-old has a £21m (€25m) release clause in his current contract, and that has attracted Barcelona to his situation, reports ESPN.

With the Catalan club’s interest known, Garcia may have just dropped a hint on his future as the goalkeeper has stated that he would like to play against Espanyol, which is something he can only do if he remains in La Liga.
“It would be nice to play against Espanyol. These things can happen,” Garcia told Esport3 via Fabrizio Romano. “I try to look for the positive side of things, and if it happens, I will accept it with enthusiasm.”

The race for Garcia is far from done, but in case they fail to sign the Espanyol star, Man City have alternative options.
Replacing Ederson will be a very hard task for Hugo Viana, but the Portuguese director has his eye on a player he knows well.

Man City still want Porto’s Diogo Costa
Man City have targeted Porto’s Diogo Costa for some time, with it already being reported that the goalkeeper is keen on the move to Manchester.
Fabrizio Romano has now stated that the Portuguese star remains on the City’s list, with the transfer journalist telling his YouTube channel: “Remember that City will be really busy because, just to give you some context, City are expected to sign a goalkeeper, Diogo Costa at Porto is an option.”
At present, Costa seems the more likely option for Man City, as he ticks plenty of boxes with the goalkeeper being young and good with the ball at his feet, which are two of the more important ones.
Man City are still in discussions with both players, and only time will tell which one, if any, ends up at the Etihad Stadium next season.
