Aston Villa have already made multiple attempts to sign Marseille’s Michael Amir Murillo, according to a report from Panama.
The 29-year-old left Anderlecht to join the Ligue 1 club in 2023 and played 25 games in his debut season, operating across the back line. His situation improved after Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival last summer and he’s amounted over 2,600 minutes from 32 games this season.
De Zerbi mainly used Michael Amir Murillo in the heart of his defence and in his preferred role as a right-back.
The versatile defender’s displays have caught Aston Villa attention and today’s edition of Panama newspaper El Siglo provides the latest.
They state the Premier League club have already made two offers for Michael Amir Murillo but the details aren’t mentioned. Marseille have rejected those bids and have requested €25m to sanction the Panama international’s sale.
El Siglo make no mention of whether Aston Villa are willing to meet Marseille’s request.
Unai Emery’s side have failed to qualify for the Champions League, a competition that the French club will be playing in.
In January, Aston Villa signed Andrés García to provide competition to Matty Cash, and he played 10 games for the Villans. Michael Amir Murillo’s arrival may be conditional on one of those going.
