West Ham could oversee multiple departures within weeks as Graham Potter reshapes his squad.

With the Hammers fearing Premier League relegation next season, a big summer is needed, but PSR concerns could limit West Ham’s spending power, with the London club being forced to sell to buy.

As a result, several departures are expected, with Lucas Paqueta linked with a move back to Brazil.

However, the midfielder is not the only star expected to leave the London Stadium this summer.

One sale that could happen over the coming weeks is Nayef Aguerd.

The Moroccan centre-back has been at the London Stadium since 2022 but has spent the 2024/25 campaign out on loan to Spanish side Real Sociedad.

As a result, rumours have linked the 29-year-old away, with Bayer Leverkusen said to be interested.

However, according to Footmercato (28 May), West Ham have multiple clubs interested in the defender.

They state that the Hammers are currently “rubbing their hands together” as interest in Aguerd increases, driving the price up.

On top of Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique de Marseille, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad all want to sign the centre-back ahead of his contract expiring in 2027.

West Ham must cash in on its deadweight

One major issue that Potter has is the number of players at the London club who are not in the first team picture.

On top of Aguerd, there are many players out on loan who simply need to be sold this summer, as they waste important space on the wage bill.

Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma are unlikely to play for West Ham again, and getting them permanently off the wage bill will do the team the world of good.

With the Hammers’ PSR concerns, the money coming in for these outcasts will also allow West Ham to make additional signings in the transfer market.

Things are expected to move very quickly once the window opens on 1 June.
