Chelsea will look to become the first club to win all four of UEFA’s major European club competitions tonight as they face Real Betis in the Conference League final, but they will approach the match without winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Urainian has been suspended since December, when he failed a routine doping test.
He has categorically denied the charge, and continues to do so, citing contamination as the cause, but remains banned from all footballing activities as he awaits the results of a secondary B sample test.
Despite that, he is on location in Wroclaw, pictured on Tuesday chatting with fans in a city-centre restaurant dressed in Chelsea gear.
He arrived in Poland ahead of the rest of the squad, but it is unclear whether he will stay in the team hotel. He is, however, expected to attend the final.
Mudryk played a central role in the early stages of the Conference League, appearing in both legs of the qualification play-off against Swiss side Servette before playing every minute of Chelsea’s first four league-phase ties.
He scored three and assisted three in those ties, marking his last appearance before being suspended with a goal away at Heidenheim.
Will Mykhailo Mudryk get a Conference League medal?
Should Chelsea win the Conference League tonight, the title will be Mudryk’s first since joining the club in 2023, and just the second of his career. Due to his suspension, though, he may not be able to celebrate the win with his team-mates on the pitch.

Regardless of the outcome of the Conference League final, Chelsea will be awarded 50 medals to distribute at their discretion: gold if they win, silver if they lose.
It is not clear whether Mudryk will be awarded a medal as he remains suspended from all football-related activities, though he is expected to receive one given his contributions to the campaign.
