Wolves 2024/25 incoming transfers rated as two purchases get full marks, but there’s two 1/10’s …

Wolves welcomed an array of talent to Molineux over the 2024/25 campaign, and some made more of an impact than others.

Gary O’Neil was stern with Fosun ahead of the summer transfer window, yearning for signings to bolster his Wolves squad.

The former manager welcomed eight players in preparation for the 2024/25 campaign, but that didn’t prevent his sacking in December.

Vitor Pereira took charge just in time to save Wolves from a relegation battle, adding three signings to the squad he inherited from O’Neil.

In what was a testing campaign for the Old Gold, Molineux Newshave ranked each of Wolves’ signings over the season from worst to best, giving each a mark out of ten.

Bastien Meupiyou – Ungradable

Starting with young Bastien Meupiyou, it’s impossible to grade the 19-year-old’s debut season due to injury and lack of time with the Wolves first team.

Before leaving, O’Neil insisted that Meupiyou would get his chance in the near future, but injury and a change at the helm have extended the waiting game.

Carlos Forbs – 1

Moving onto one of the worst signings of the season comes Carlos Forbs’ loan arrival from Ajax.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Since making the deadline day move, Forbs has not shown that he’s good enough for Wolves, as Pereira recently explained.

The 21-year-old had the potential to be a promising signing after Wolves lost Pedro Neto, but instead, the Manchester City academy product has earned just 617 minutes of playing time over the entire 2024/25 calendar.

Sam Johnstone – 1

Signing Sam Johnstone was a terrible decision by Wolves.

The goalkeeper arrived and disrupted Jose Sa’s run in the starting XI while failing to show that he could offer anything to the Old Gold.

Wolves fans have not been impressed with Johnstone, who is expected to leave the club just one season after signing from Crystal Palace.

Tommy Doyle – 4

It’s been an unfortunate season for Tommy Doyle, who is reportedly open to leaving Wolves in the summer.

Like Johnstone, a transfer for the midfielder would come only a year after he put pen to paper on a permanent contract at Molineux.

While O’Neil saw promise in the Englishman, Pereira has no place for Doyle in his squad, and has made such very clear.

Nasser Djiga – 5

Nasser Djiga started the season in the Champions League with Red Star Belgrade before signing for Wolves in January.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been used sparingly since his arrival, playing only 151 minutes since he signed.

Wolves fans have shared their reservations about Djiga, signalling that perhaps the centre-back needs a loan or additional time to adapt to the Premier League.

Marshall Munetsi – 6

At times in the season, some Wolves fans haven’t been too impressed by Marshall Munetsi, who signed in January.

That being said, the versatile midfielder is loved by Pereira, who has stuck by naming the January arrival in the squad in more advanced areas.

Munetsi has been described as Wolves’ unsung hero for his quiet contribution on matchdays, but it would be premature to say that the transfer has been a resounding success.

Pedro Lima – 7

Wolves hijacked Chelsea’s plot to sign Pedro Lima, and fans will be so glad that the Old Gold were able to do so.

Though there haven’t been many sightings of the Brazilian in his debut season, when the teenager has played, he’s impressed.

Lima has shown that he’s ready to play in the Premier League, contrary to O’Neil’s beliefs, making his arrival both exciting for now and the future.

Rodrigo Gomes – 8

Rodrigo Gomes is loved at Wolves, being a player who is prepared to fight for the badge whenever he is given the chance.

The versatile Portuguese youngster is the perfect fit for Pereira’s system, giving the manager an option to call upon if needed.

When on the pitch, Wolves fans have been impressed with Gomes, who has a bright future at the club in what was one of the most successful purchases of the season.

Jorgen Strand Larsen – 9

In a record-breaking season for Jorgen Strand Larsen, it would be impossible not to give the striker near-perfect marks.

The Norwegian suffered a slump mid-way through the campaign, taking one point from his score, but the good certainly outweighs the bad.

Strand Larsen is rated highly by his teammates, as he made a name for himself in his debut season, contributing to 18 Premier League goals.

Andre – 10

One of the two perfect scorers is Andre, whom Pereira is a huge admirer of.

Signed from Fluminense on deadline day, the Brazilian has uncovered a strong pivot in midfield alongside Joao Gomes, being pivotal to Wolves’ style of play.

In his debut season, Andre was one of the best performers in the Premier League, making his presence in Europe known.

Emmanuel Agbadou – 10

Emmanuel Agbadou has been described as the signing of the season, and for good reason.

The Ivorian arrived in January to finally fill the void in Wolves’ defence, and the Old Gold haven’t looked back since.

There have been few Wolves players who have been better than Agbadou since he touched down in England, arriving at a time of need and bringing remarkable quality.
