Teenage footballing sensation Lamine Yamal has signed a new mega deal at Barcelona, which will keep him at the La Liga side until 2031. Yamal, who helped Spain win Euro 2024, has been vital behind Barcelona winning the Spanish league title this season, besides also clinching the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

Yamal scored 18 goals in the 2024-25 season and scripted 13 assists in the La Liga. However, his impact on the pitch is not limited to goal-scoring opportunities. A livewire on the pitch, Yamal has often been responsible for terrorising the opponent’s defence and initiating Barcelona’s attacks.

Yamal made his debut in April 2023 and has already made 106 appearances for Barcelona. “In 2031, Lamine Yamal is only gonna be 23,” Barcelona said on X as they announced the contract extension deal with the prodigy.

Barcelona have also responded in the same way with the financial deal for Lamine Yamal. After a mega contract extension deal, Yamal is set to become one of the biggest earners at the club at just 17.

As per beIN Sports, Yamal will earn €15 million (£12.5m/$17m) per season just as a base salary, which can rise to €20m (£17m/$23m) with bonuses. This means a weekly wage of £325,000.

The Catalan club has also made it extremely difficult for other teams to try and capture Yamal. As per the report, the youngster now has a release clause of €1 billion (£838m/$1.1bn).

It has also been reported that Yamal will don the No.10 shirt next season as Ansu Fati is set to leave Barcelona. In the past, the Barcelona No.10 shirt has been worn by Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi.

For the unversed, Yamal joined Barcelona’s La Masia academy at age 7.
