Manchester United are still digesting the end of a bitterly underwhelming season under Ruben Amorim, but plans for a summer rebuild are already well underway behind the scenes.
The Red Devils know they must strengthen in key areas, especially with doubts hanging over several first-team regulars, including Andre Onana, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund.
New faces are expected to arrive as United aim to reset and return to Europe, and the club is prepared to go head-to-head with Europe’s elite in the transfer market.

Across the continent, several top clubs are also in transition, with Barcelona already plotting major changes after winning a domestic treble under new manager Hansi Flick.
The Catalan giants are closing in on one of their top transfer targets, but their grip on the player could still slip amid growing interest from English clubs – including United.
Joan Garcia, the highly-rated Espanyol goalkeeper, is attracting serious attention across Europe following a sensational 2024/25 campaign that saw him emerge as one of La Liga’s breakout stars.
Despite Espanyol avoiding relegation, Garcia’s $28.2 million (€25 million) release clause remains intact – making him an appealing target for top clubs, including Manchester United.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Garcia’s representatives over a five-year deal, with performance bonuses if he breaks into Spain’s senior national team.
However, a key decision-making meeting is reportedly scheduled between Friday and Monday – and English clubs are still in with a serious chance of hijacking the move.
United are joined by Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa in chasing the 23-year-old, who has also caught the attention of Napoli, Inter Milan, and Bayer Leverkusen.
Barcelona remain “calm” about the situation, but the final call rests with Joan Garcia, and a move to the Premier League is clearly still under serious consideration.
With Andre Onana’s future uncertain after a rocky season, United could see Garcia as the ideal long-term option to rebuild their defence from the back.
Should the young Spaniard reject Barcelona, it would represent a massive win for United as they look to usher in a new era under Amorim with a fresh face in goal.
