TBR Football understands that Chelsea are continuing to work on a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.
Gittens has long been one of Chelsea’s top targets to fill the wide role they are looking for as they target a wideman who can play off the left, but is right-footed.
The Borussia Dortmund forward fits that profile, along with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Nico Williams and Rafa Leao – all of whom are on Chelsea’s radar.
But the West London club are now working to bring the 20-year-old back to England following his impressive campaign at the Signal Iduna Park.

Joe Shields backing Chelsea’s move for Jamie Gittens
Jamie Gittens is a player who appeals hugely to Chelsea given their belief in landing some of the world’s top young talent. The 20-year-old is now understood to be ready to return to England, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
TBR Football revealed back in February that Dortmund wanted £70m for Gittens, making him a rather expensive option for the Blues.
Indeed, Gittens spent a brief spell at Chelsea’s academy but spent most of his early years with Reading before joining Manchester City, when he was spotted by them aged 13.
One of those to spot him was Joe Shields, who is now Co-Director of Recruitment and Talent at Stamford Bridge.
TBR Football understands that Shields remains a huge fan of Gittens and has been backing the club’s push for him.
Arsenal remain keen on Jamie Gittens
Other clubs are inevitably interested in Gittens and Arsenal have also held talks, whilst Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on his situation.
The Gunners are looking to sign a left winger this summer and the Dortmund forward is a player who they are keen on.
