Everton are facing a real battle to secure the signature of Liam Delap.
Clubs from across the top Premier League sides are interested in adding a new striker to their starting XI this summer.
Everton are one of those clubs following a turbulent campaign in front of goal for the Toffees.
Along with numerous other sides, Everton have met with Delap to discuss a potential summer move to Merseyside.
David Moyes is still waiting on a decision over the future of his striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin who is set to become a free agent over the coming days.
There is a real importance being put on Everton to improve this summer ahead of their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Moyes would be open to signing two strikers in an attempt to finally solve Everton’s issues in front of goal.
But they face a real tug of war when it comes to Delap who is the subject of interest from clubs across the land.

John Terry shares Liam Delap verdict amid Everton interest
Chelsea are showing interest in Emanuel Emegha, who is also on the Friedkin’s radar at Everton.
But it is Delap who is making the headlines with both Premier League clubs having held meetings with the 20-year-old.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Chelsea legend John Terry has admitted he doesn’t think Chelsea should sign the Ipswich Town man.
“I think if you’re looking to go to that next step you need to bring in someone who’s proven, who’s done it, who’s scored goals in the Premier League,” he said.
“I think that tends to be an experienced player. I think the owners are quite clear they aren’t going to go down that route; they don’t want to bring in someone of 29/30 years of age on big money.
“It’s going to be a different model and different mindset. I think we need to.”
Delap was impressed by his talks with Everton who would be willing to offer him regular minutes in the starting XI.
But Chelsea were able to secure Champions League football on the final day of the season which will naturally appeal.
Delap needs to make a smart move for his career
There is no doubt other clubs can offer Delap more than Everton when it comes to European football, and potentially even wages.
But Delap wants to play football ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England side possibly up for grabs.
Everton would seem like a great option for Delap if that is the case as the starting spot in Everton’s XI is there for the taking.
The 20-year-old will also be able to play in a state-of-the-art new stadium and in front of one of the best fanbases about.
He could make a real name for himself on Merseyside, and Everton would be willing to include a release clause for Delap in case a future move was to develop.
