Alisson Becker declared he is ready for "a new challenge" with Liverpool as he pinpointed team spirit as a key factor behind their dominant Premier League triumph. The Reds earned a record-equalling 20th league championship by finishing 10 points clear of leading also-ran Arsenal in head coach Arne Slot's first season in charge.

Alisson started 28 of 38 league games this campaign and is one of six players to have been part of both of Liverpool's Premier League title-winning seasons.

And the Brazil goalkeeper is already setting his sights on the next assignment with the Reds as they look to successfully defend a trophy for the first time in more than 40 years.

"We’ve done it," said Alisson when speaking on Monday's victory parade. "It’s unbelievable. It’s hard to believe that we are here, that we are champions.

"It’s so hard, we worked so hard, for so many years arriving close, sometimes not that close. It’s so difficult to win this title. But we were able to win it this season and with the opportunity to celebrate is fantastic, amazing.

"We know how in football things change quickly. When the celebration finishes we go for a new challenge."

Liverpool's squad will have a new look next season. Trent Alexander-Arnold is departing on a free transfer to Real Madrid, with doubts over the futures of several other players.

Goalkeeper Giorigi Mamardashvili is arriving from Valencia, while a move for right-back Jeremie Frimpong is close to being confirmed and talks are ongoing with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for his team-mate, attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.

And Alisson has explained how the relationships forged at the AXA Training Centre and beyond have had an impact during his time with Liverpool.

"I think throughout the years we’ve developed a really good relationship between the players, obviously with Virgil, with Robbo, with Trent," said Alisson to LFC TV. "It’s been seven years here in Liverpool.

"We create really special connections and it feels even more special to win titles with this kind of connection. Obviously with the other lads that haven’t played long enough, you still create connections and this makes everything special.

"So the connection between the players, but the connection between the people, with the city, with the supporters, with the club, it makes everything much, much, much more special."
